Women’s sports apparel and licensed merchandise brand Goal Five has announced the appointment of Suzanne Berg Currier as its new Chief Executive Officer. Berg Currier succeeds Ann Kletz, the company’s co-founder, who will continue to serve as an advisor.

Berg Currier joined Goal Five in July 2024 as Chief Marketing Officer and had previously served on the company’s board of directors. With nearly 30 years of experience in media and marketing, she takes on the CEO role as the brand moves into its next stage of growth.

As CMO, Berg Currier helped reshape Goal Five’s brand, improved how its products are presented, and strengthened its focus on making performance apparel designed specifically for women. She also launched the “Her Fifth Gear” storytelling initiative, spotlighting how participation in sports contributes to broader success in women’s personal and professional lives.

Alongside her work at Goal Five, Berg Currier directs media and marketing strategy at Woodside Ventures, a Pittsburgh-based digital e-commerce marketing agency. Her previous experience also includes serving as an advisor to San Diego-based sunglass brand Knockaround.

Commenting on her appointment, Berg Currier said she is honored to lead a brand built to support female athletes of all ages and abilities. She emphasized Goal Five’s mission of creating apparel engineered for women’s bodies while amplifying stories that highlight the transformative power of sport.

Goal Five board chairman Jeffrey R. Hennion praised her leadership and vision, noting that her passion for women’s sports and strong background in brand building make her well-suited to guide the company’s expansion. Founder Ann Kletz said Berg Currier clearly understands the brand’s purpose and its goal of making sports more fair for women.

Earlier this year, Goal Five relocated its headquarters from Oakland, California, to Pittsburgh, establishing a new base on Butler Street. The move is intended to support future growth, expanded distribution, and a broader product portfolio.

Goal Five products are currently sold through major sports retailers, including Pittsburgh-based Dick’s Sporting Goods, as well as other national chains.
